Mykonos

Like a perpetual summer, Mykonos is one of the most picturesque Greek destinations in the world. September and October are the best times to take a vacation in Mykonos and make sure to pack a lot of sunscreen and nice swimsuits because of the sunny, almost tropical weather. 

Sitting in the Aegean Sea, your hotel window overlooks the vast and inviting turquoise ocean. Being surrounded by beautiful beaches, there are a lot of water activities and sports to spend your days with. You can also do walk tours around the idyllic villages, that almost seems to jump right out of a postcard. Not to mention immersing your palate with delicious Greek food as dining options. 

The best about Mykonos? Being the Ibiza of Greece. The city comes alive at night, bustling with summer parties at its popular nightclubs. From day to night, Mykonos is definitely a city worth adding to your vacation bucket list. 

Santorini

With its rugged landscape overlooking the Aegean Sea, you would never believe that Santorini’s unique look is from a volcanic eruption. Its two major towns, Firo and Oia, form the all-white cubiform houses that hug its cliffs and gives its layered outward appearance. With the towns still sitting on a crater, Santorini’s smaller islands and beaches’ composition are of black, red and white lava pebbles. 

A lot of movies have already featured Santorini as its location, and it made the island even more enticing to many travelers. The best time to visit Santorini is between late April and early November when the weather is warm. You can already imagine dipping into the crystalline waters and getting sunkissed all day long, while walking around the towns, taking into the sights and enjoying the delectable local Greek cuisine.

Athens

Parthenon, anyone? Who can resist the chance to frolic around one of the most iconic cities in the history of the world? As the Greek capital, Athens is soaked in its rich culture and vast heritage that goes way back to the 5th century BC. 

One can never miss the Acropolis, which is one of Athens’ popular landmarks, the hilltop citadel that alongside other colonial landmarks. There is also The Acropolis Museum, along with the National Archaeological Museum, that continues to preserve ancient Greek sculptures and relics from Ancient Greece.

Athens is named after the Greek goddess Athena and you should never miss a tour to her shrine, the Parthenon, which sits on top of a hill in the heart of the city.

Continuously enthralling, Athens is also home to lovely museums, tavernas, agoras, churches and temples that you will enjoy touring around during the day. A vacation in Athens is also not complete without a visit to Plaka, which is the city’s shopping hub and lined with popular store brands like Sephora and H&M.
